hawaiian is pretty much done with hiring for now. but we should be hiring again in late '09, early '10 ish when the leased a330s come in. however, there are a lot of aloha airline bruddahs on the street wanting the job. approximately 70% of the classes have been aloha guys so if you arent one of them, its quite tough to get in. good luck.

Sometimes. Sometimes we work 10 days a month and it is even possible to have to do 36 in a row....very rare though. It's hard to give an average lately because of all the new (old) airframes. AMC, new contracts, hiring and back-logged training.

Does anyone know how to apply to World? I can't find it on the website.

Unless you are not happy doing what you are doing now, I would think really hard about jumping into any 121 ops now.

Yea I know... When I started flying 10 years ago the goal was to get into 121, but things happen and I have been very fortunate to have really good jobs in corporate aviation. However, acting like a chauffeur and camping out at FBO's has gotten old so if the right door opens, I am ready to take that chance. Maybe I just need to recharge my batteries, who knows...

Being an ex 121 guy myself I can't imagine why anyone would want to go into the airlines at a time like this. My worst day corporate is better than my best day at the airlines.

Excel,

Have you ever considered 121 freight/cargo/packages. I know its not for everyone but wasn't sure if you have considered it?

Was it regional or mainline? I never flew corporate but I can tell you that my 2nd worst day at DAL (1st was Nov. 1, 2001 when the furlough hit) beats anything I did while flying at the regionals or freight.

Yeah even if you're local its hard to get in there... I have a bunch of friends that interviewed at HAL in May 2008 and still haven't been given notice of whether they passed their interviews... they have a messy interview process since HR decided to take it over and push the HAL pilots out of the hiring process.
