Wow, I'm surprised to hear that. I actually recommended CAL to a regional jumpseater recently because CAL looked better than average to me from the outside. I don't mean to get you disgusted again but what one or two things makes it undesireable so that I can know better next time someone asks.

Well, I have heard that CAL mgmt has been in discussion with the Union in mitigating ALL FURLOUGHS if pilots givr up scope................maybe it has something to do with this?

Wouldn't make much sense cause if they did cave on scope they would need even less pilots??????

My frustration doesn't stem from CAL senior management. Our pilot group, wouldn't use the term union, is so nutless. Larry and his gang out-trump any other legacy management team. Middle-management, scabs and scab-mentality pilots are the one barrier to CAL being a real airline job. Can;t wait to vote on the A-fund.

It's funny how the grass isn't all that much greener once I got on board. At first, I imagined a young crew force with a 5 year upgrade to CA. Then I realized that the only reason CAL had 2 year upgrades was because our work rules are so horrendous that more senior FOs wanted nothing to do with being junior again. If CAL had to adopt UAL or DAL's work rules, we'd need to hire 1,000 more pilots.

A320,

Another 4 years and these guys will be hitting the streets regardless. Things will only get better with CAL in regards to the pilot group. I am prior military but I love the express guy's attitudes. Dividends will be paid in the future with a good young core group that is there now.

For those of us that didn't read A320's original post, what's going on? Did mainline give in on their 50 seat scope?

As a 70 seat driver, I don't want to see that happening either. I don't want to fly an RJ for the rest of my life and appreciated that CAL was one of the last to give in on it.
