Does anyone at NWA have any latest info on the NWA hiring? Reason for this thread is I keep hearing that NWA might restart Flowthrough in the Fall due to the larger staffing requirement after the merger. This seems odd since I have also read that they are planning to park at least 34 DC9s and several A 319/320s. Can't confirm this as this is a second hand info.

We usually don't know about hiring until the month they start doing it. They have kept the airline unbelievably lean. We are projecting to have 150 to 200 more pilots retire before the end of the year. (51 for September perps, with 114 applied with another announcement on/after Sept 6th. with the remainder being projected because of the increased medical costs for retirees under the DAL plan).

But as for hiring? I think that will be all done in ATL after DCC.

it has been mentioned that any hiring between DCC and SOC would be done by NWA HR since we will still be separate operating certificates. Until it happens its all rumor though. I really hope so because i have a few friends in the pool at NWA that i would love to see get brought on. Time will tell

Whats the latest that someone interviewed with NWA and was brought onboard? How many people in the pool (if there is one)?

Thanks

When Delta purchased Western they assumed all hiring responsibilities in Atlanta at the DCC. Western continued to run new hire classes but they were interviewed and picked in ATL. Pilots Western had interviewed and hired were given class dates even if they were after DCC. The western new hire classes were run because they needed the capacity at the time. When the hiring slowed it all went to Atlanta.

So if this were to be the case then, those of us that weren't good enough to be with the high and mighty in ATL, are we "ineligible for reinterview"?

Depends on what stage of the interview you didn't pass? If it was the actual interview not the testing then you would be ineligible. However, the backdoor could be if NWA hires and you make it on then.

These are all good inputs but has anyone heard if the staffing requirement for NWA will be increased despite the reduction of DC9s and A319/320s?
I guess, at this point no one really knows unless they have the inside connection with the top management at NWA or DAL.

I was told I was not successful in the panel interview at DAL (I have to believe it was poor timing as I was in the last interview group on 3/28). What I was asking was if I were to apply to NWA if they open up the window, but move hiring to ATL, would I be snubbed by "tradition"?

Considering the tone of your post I can't imagine what the problem is. Keep your chin up, stay current and keep applying - thats all anyone can do - but lose the attitude it won't help.
