As for scheduling, I couldn't agree with you more. SA has scheduling issues, and if your guy can help, I am all for it. However, since that is really beyound our scope as a group, there is little we can do. We can make suggestions (maybe a little pressure here and there), but those positions are up to SA management.

This could be why your schedule sucks and there is no push for improvement.

Obviously, you didn't uderstand where I was going with this. I was implying that accepting the current scheduling will not bring about change. This is one of the frustrations of the merger. Cargo 360 outlines improvements that improve both the company and the labor and it Seems as if the SA guys are just sitting on it because they are afraid to ruffle feathers with Neff. 20 days in a row every month is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Please tell me that I am wrong and the SA group is taking the concerns of the 360 guys and are trying to make changes because so far it seems as if there is hesitation and lack of motivation to make the merged airline an acceptable place to work. I'm not trying to get in a *issing contest, but the pilot group can change scheduling with enough pressure and a resonable management team

My wish list for Southern Air goes as follows:
1. Duty day restriction of 16 hours (This includes commercial travel). If they go over, it must be by my consent and then they must pay half my flight pay + whatever I get paid for flying or DH.
2. 18 Days max on the road. After that, 5 hours of pay per day + whatever I get for flying or DH.
3. A better Health Insurance Plan. The current one is not as good as some others I have seen (And I pay less, max out of pocket $150 for a family).
4. 14 hours minimum rest. If they go less, than half my flight pay gets paid continuously until I get 14 hours rest. (This is in addition to flight pay or DH pay).
5. Life Insurance paid for by the company of at least 100,000 dollars.
6. Loss of License Insurance Paid by the company.
7. Of my guaranteed 12 days off every month, if I get called and asked to fly during those 12 days, I get paid 5 hours every day + whatever I fly or DH.
8. Pay guarantee on bid lines. If I get bid awarded a 75 hour line, I get paid for that line even if it doesn't fly 75 hours. And if they don't send me out to fly said bid line, I get paid whatever I fly + the bid line.
8. And of course, better pay per hour (captains should start around $140 an hour, FO's & FE's should be should be around 60 the first year and then mid 70's the second and so on.
I know maybe some of you guys are laughing, but is this unrealistic? If you think it is, you have been bottom feeding too long.
This is the contract at World Airways. Which coincedently, have roughly the same number of aircraft.

Dutch, those are some awesome goals. Those are some things that we don't currently have in the current contract. I am sure everyone would love to have all of them.
Why don't you run for a rep position and start pushing the agenda, I am sure you will be backed 100%.
I am tired of folks that have these great ideas, yet they don't want to do anything about it.
You talk a big game, but what are you doing to change the status quo.
If you are serious about how you feel, get with SACG and try to make a difference. Don't just p*** and moan on this board.
Lets work together and make a difference!

I cannot speak for Dutch, but I'd be happy to work together to make a difference. I'll wager you that I can change the status quo there at SAH. I'll be glad to run for a rep position and I will push that exact agenda, if that is what the group wants
but I have yet to be offered a position at SAH or one of its new wholly owned subsidiaries
so the current members of the SACG are the ones that will have to plow that ground alone until I get there. When I do get there, do you and the rest of the group have the unity & guts to do what it takes to make it happen? If you do, super, let's get busy, if not, then everybody will have to just put up and take whatever Neff and the gang dole out, and I'll go back into retirement and update my resume, I'm sure someone else will call before long, there are way too many opportunities out there to endure that treatment for very long. A properly organized & motivated pilot group can change policy and priorities at a company the size of SAH in a matter of days if not hours. I saw it happen at Cargo 360, so with the proper unity it can happen at SAH.For now, until we turn out the lights, the Cargo 360 guys have great airplanes to fly and freight to haul for a very happy customer, and we are being very well paid to do it. Works for me, I'm like most pilots, you can't buy my loyalty, but you can rent it, so for now I have no loyalty to SAH. Furthermore, I suspect you will see little public support from the Cargo 360 bubbas until after the job offers have been officially proffered. Ball is in SAH's court, and has been for some time. It's time for Neff to fish or cut bait.
