A new 747 start-up: Cargo 360
#201
I just had an interesting read. C360 stock offering laid the details of the merger. Cargo 360 purchased Southern Airlines. Southern Air Holdings is the parent company of Cargo 360 and Cargo 360 is the parent company of Southern Air. How is we are being offered conditional offers of employment and not the other way around? Why is it that we are being intergrated into SA seniority list and not the other way around? Well anyways back to reading.

Where is this info. It was my understanding that Oak Hill bought SAI and not C360. Please post a link as it might shed some light on the situation.

The people who purchased stock in C360 received a 40 plus page document in the mail detailing how the stock repurchase, rollover, or options would be handled. The information is on the first page of the document which I can't scan because I don't have a scanner. This was news to all of us when we read or saw the document. Maybe someone with the offer and a scan would be willing to post it.

It's all explained there in the legal filings. The way OHCP worked it was to fund C360 to buy SA, then fold it into a new company called Soutern Air Holdings. They get to depreciate the assets again that way - Score: Oak Hill 1, IRS 0!! Score: C360 crews F@cked!

Look for a link to the DOT (OST) website. Then look for either one of the carriers and you can read all the legal details.

Maybe I am a little slow but here we go. If in fact C360 did purchase SAI then how are the C360 crews hosed. Wouldn't it be the SAI crews?

Not quite certain that Cargo 360 pilots were completely screwed in the deal.
Consider:
1. 10K signing bonus (or 4 months (probably more) termination bonus pay)
2. Higher 2nd year pay scale than Southern Pilots (eg: $110 Capt/67.5 FO)
3. 3 to 1 on stock purchase
4. Relief from the Cargo 360 2-year training bond and no SAH carryover bond
5. 401K that didn't previously exsist at C360
6. Same basic medical plan
7. 1/2 DH on commercial travel to and from work (none exsistent at C360)
8. 3.5 hour daily rig for days on the road (no rig exsists at C360 until after 20 days)
9. An actual pilot working contract (which obviously needs work)
Frankly the only screwing will be in DOH integration. That has less to do with Oak Hill and everything to do with the SAGC negotiations. If they go by strict DOH, obviously none of the senior C360 Captains will be senior enough to set foot in a 747-400.
And, therefore, none will come over to SA. I suspect the "delay" that has occured in sending out offers of employment centers around the sticky issue of pilot seniority integration.
Finally... does QOL suck at SA? You bet! Could that change for the better? Well it will have to if they want to retain their own people, let alone attract C360 pilots.
Remains to be seen I guess. Its called "leadership". Lets see if they have any over there at SA.

Trip Rig at Cargo 360 is 3 hours a day 20 days of availability(not on the road) times 3 =60 hours guarantee. The way our schedule works is you have to give the scheduler 20 days of availability in either a 20 day block or 2 10 day blocks, so you bid your days off. If you chose, which you can, to only give 15 days of availability then you bet you'll work 15 days and the scheduler will build your line for 45 hours of pay, but if you give the scheduler 20 days of availability you'll work 15 days for 85 hours of pay. The 20 days of availabilty gives the schedulers the ability to work the schedule amongst what days the pilots want off. We also get paid 4 hours for deadheads no matter the length of the actual flight, but we get this pay during year one unlike SA. We also do have a contract that is followed by the company however it's not officially posted. At Cargo 360 if a problem needs fixed and maagement agrees it gets fixed without going through the grief.
