Jumpseat on SWA from FLL
I'm hoping to jumpseat from FLL to TPA this Friday (9-19) on Southwest. I'm a FDX guy and will be in uniform. My question is whether I need to stand in line at the ticket counter for a gate pass or can I go through security without one since I'm in uniform?
Thanks and any other info gladly accepted.

if you're in uniform and have an ID, you should be able to go straight to the security line and omit the stop at the ticket counter.
although, now that Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum have blue shirts and badges...all bets are off.

(866) SWA-PLAY [(866) 792-7529] or if you need to speak with a Sales Agent, call (866)
FLY-SWNR [(866) 359-7967]. It creats a Non-rev number for the gate agent. If you don't have time to get yourself listed just proceed to the gate you want to fly at and the agent will be able to help you.

If your in uniform and have company badge you don't need a pass. But on a power trip they might give you a hard time. Just remember "November 1st 2007 admendment to section 4.3.1.b.1 of the aossp" That normally puts a supervisor in their place. Or you can hope it will.

I guess it would depend on the specific person you got working the checkppoint, but after my experience I never wanted to take the chance again.

Thanks again for all that took the time to offer helpful tips. I called the 800 number for non-rev listing,(866) SWA-PLAY [(866) 792-7529], real easy to use. I got a locator number that I used to print a "boarding pass" from the SWA website. You have to scroll down a bit and select "security document" I'm sure I could have used that number at a kiosk also if I had been unable to access a printer. Anyway, it worked like a charm to get me through security, then the fine folks at the gate and the crew took good care of me.

SWA is going to a new system...I'm not sure if you can go to the gate or not anymore and be okay. EVen if you dont have to, I would list by that number in case some ops agent misinterprets and you end up getting screwed. There are not many that would do that, but there are one or two.
