Time to buy some LUV????

SWA traded at $16.50 plus less than two months ago. No bankcruptcies, lawsuits or really any other anouncements for it's plummet to under $8. My bet is it will go up again to about $14-15 within the next six months. If I had the money...I would buy it.

2008 Georgia Bulldogs, quite possibly the most overrated team in this decade.

Personally, I would be very, very, very careful buying LUV right now... like another poster said I've also made more money on CAL... however that was very risky, and I happen to get a lucky break in a short window and took it.
If you don't trade that much, I'd suggest seeing what the market does solid for a little while before jumping on "bargains" .... I made the mistake on jumping on a "bargain" BAC @ 19.75, because in the first part of October it was around 37.....it did a dive bomb... now it is at 11.47...guess I'll be in for the long haul...
With the dow bouncing up 400 and down 500, etc...I would just wait til it stabilizes to buy anything
Right now it is like seeing a bunch of gold in the middle of a frozen lake...maybe you'll get lucky and make it out there, or maybe the ice will break and down you go....

I hope we hang 50 on the Barn, then will take it to the Gators.
Kind of reminds me of 92, when no one thought we would beat Miami.

I think there are probably a lot of Dolphin fans that might agree with that spelling... but I digress. At any rate, ya'll won't have the Great Pumpkin to kick around anymore.

And to get things back to the original thread... If anybody buys an airline stock as an investment, they shouldn't be surprised when they lose money... ya'll above all should know better. The best looking dog in an uugly litter is probably still ugly..

If you wanted to buy, today was a great opportunity - the Fitch rating sent it back to yesterday's closing price for a little while. I bought some down there, and I'll sell it within a week. Not looking for the long term $16 target, just the short term bounce as I hopefully ride it up with stops.

I was gonna buy some LUV, as I think it's a great buy right now, but have decided to take that money and buy Citi. I really don't care if analysts lower their rating on a stock. Some of the airline stocks are pretty predictable. If i see a stock consistently trading at 12-14, then get knocked down to 5 in a matter of 10 days, it's a buy. I did this with UAUA last month and doubled my money in 6 days. If I had balls I would have tripled it but I didn't get greedy and sold it when it doubled. Airlines are never good long term buys but you can makes some serious coin in a matter of days because they are so volatile.

Thanks Ace, but I took the plunge and bought it around $8.05 a couple of days ago, so I'm up a few percentage points already. I only have 150 shares, so I'm not in for a lot of $$$, but I have faith in SWA......
