"did not have a lot of friends" may have been overstated. Probably one....maybe. Not a fun guy to fly with even on a short leg.

Been there...done that !

Returned? You mean retired, right? That's kind of what I said a few posts earlier - I was told he was kindly asked to retire...

Nice guy if you want to sit in the right seat and listen to "...OK, it's your leg. Now turn right 10 degrees now...OK, turn left 5 degrees now, hold your left hand on the thrust levers...yeah, I know we're level at 280 but it's a good technique, now start down when I tell you to, now run the decent and approach checklist...yada yada yada......

Ouch..G'Day to anyone who had to endure that experience.
I think we all get to fly with one of them every once in a while, that's funny! I usually just hit the source button and tell em your controls, I got the radio.

The law was passed in Dec, so you might as well use Jan 1 2013 as day one.

Hopefully there will be some early out programs offered but don't hold your breath. I think you will see some movement once that person hits 62....only about 10 months away now. Depending on your age the retirement numbers are big. Notice that UAL retirements are about 7000. Will be how many numbers you move up in your career as long as you come in after...ie: age 40 or so.
