Sorry to burst your bubble, but the parking of NWA's 747-200 ANC operation indicates there are lots of places to go, but up. But here's to wishing. (White Russian lifted high in your honor)
Years of backwards movement while FNWA displace in ahead of us in the warm weather bases is going to be very demoralizing.
There probably will be advancement opportunities if you are willing to commute OUT of a hub to a FNWA base. The DC9 out of DTW will probably always be a junior position.
There are signs of life with my plan B (it turns out Corporate aviation is not completely dead). Maybe attrition on the Delta side will help some of the most junior as we figure out "the last job we'd ever have" wasn't quite what it promised to be prior to the merger.

I'm hoping the speedtape on the DC9 doesn't fall off that easily. It's a good airplane and should keep flying as long as the oil prices stay low.

It is not the SO's I'm concerned about... it is the Captains. After all, one very senior Capt displacement can bump 16 other pilots if I did my math right.

Q: Do our bid preferences (AE, VD,MD) get automatically deleted now that the bid is out? I spent weeks planning my bid and missed displacement (for now) by about two numbers on the seniority list.
