That's an excellent policy and one I'm going to recommend to our jumpseat committee.

Default Clarify the DAL/NWA policy please

Last week I went to get on a NW flight (Bus) that was weight restricted.
They were buying pax off. I told the CSA "looks like I'm not getting on, I can take the SEA 757 next door and connect through SEA". She told me as long as the other NW guy that was listed (there were 2 with 1 already there) didn't show up, I had the seat. Me: Huh????

Then she told me the new policy, per "Delta's rules", was that the JS's were included in the OEW and as long as you can sit in the actual JS, you won't be bumped for weight. This was a domestic flight. I got on, some pax were bought off. I am not DAL or NWA.

Is this correct or is the policy like a previous post which said only DAL (or NWA) employees who are pre-listed cannot be bumped?

Thanks

My understanding is that this only applies to DAL and NWA pilots on mainline flights.

It does, but as with everything people misunderstand it. The thing is that she had two NWA guys/gals listed so it was accounted for, one did not show so they could let you on! They have two J/s on the 757 as DAL only has one.

Not so fast ACL, NWA 757's only have one jumpseat. The 319 and 320's (obviously)have two jumpseats.

Not so fast! DL does have some 757s with 2 jumpseats. They are the X-TWA birds. It used to be easy to spot them, they were the ones with winglets. Now some of the straight 57s have winglets. The problem is/was that domestically, the template only shows one seat on them, and most agents don't know to look out the window. If you can get them to look and see if there are two seats, you might be in luck.

Told you. Read back a few pages. It does not come to the US. It is not illegal meat either. It goes from Johannesburg- to DKR and then AF takes some of it. There is also a ton of other cargo that goes in and out of there. Just look in the belly of your jet when you are down there.
