I work for Delta North.
I would rather be an April 08 hire at Delta (now that they merged with NWA). How is that relevant if RAH buys Compass and the lists are merged? The question was what would happen to the Compass pilots if the almighty RAH buys Compass. If we were merged with a mainline carrier, I'm confident we would be stapled. I don't think we are talking about the same thing.

Just to be clear, I am not suffering from any of the following dilusions:

1. That we will ever be stapled to Delta,
2. That even if we were there would be any kind of an integration as opposed to a straight staple,
3. That I'll still have a job in 2010,
4. That it would be a good thing if more 76 seaters went to any regional airline, ever,
5. That it is a good thing that there are already 51+ seaters at any regional, or
6. That the stripper who was all over me actually likes me.

Yep, I got my wires crossed. I didn't catch the switch from the Delta/Compass to the RAH/Compass. I still hope we staple Compass to Delta. I'd rather fly the E175 than a DC9.

I agree that Section 6 is the best chance, if not the only chance. But we need to start educating guys NOW so that when Section 6 does open back up they ACTUALLY look through Section 1 of the CBA. If people would actually read through the other thread they would see that many of the resolutions being presented only ask the LEC/MEC to look into it. We are not saying(the majority at least) staple NOW or else. We are just trying to get the pilot group ready.

BTW, Good Luck to American Pilots. Please tell management to screw off when they tell you they want more 70 seaters. They're a cancer for us at DAL.

That might be my favorite post all year. So true. Reminds me of a scene from Raising Arizona with Nicholas Cage....

"Well, which one is it? You want I's to freeze or drop?....."

Nevermind. You have to see the movie.

How many people told you that you would never get a 50% raise (or whatever you guys asked for)? IMO, you have no leverage either, and your management is way smarter than your union leaders. But, I still wish you luck and I think you can eventually do it.

One caveat, we all need support for the other pilot groups. Naysayers don't help with progress, they just make noise. "Nay, Nay." See? That doesn't help.

Words that will immediately cause hostilities on airline forums:

1. "Scab"
2. "Staple"
3. "Re-Regulation"
4. "Single Pilot Seniority List"
5. "Wankel Rotary Engine" (Hat tip: Monty Python)
6. "Mac vs. PC"

Any more come to mind?

That's just total CRAPTASTIC'NOUS that someone got the Stig before me. I was going to change my screen name given my amazing ability to place in the bottom 20% at the last track day. Three year old tires (cheap pilot) will do that to you.
