In any event, I hope VA sends their FA's over to DAL. We need an infusion...

In one CA's wise words....."Hey, that's called 'stealing' my man"

To "Fred Flintstone".....your numbers metioned earlier are understood as well as the former employeers that it encompasses, but in today's economy, your not going to get any bleeding hearts on your side when it comes to VA and it's business ties on the "East side of the Atlantic" (minority or not).....especially when US carriers are protecting their own "turf". With today's "S-Sandwich's" that a lot of guys/gals are getting delt in the present industry (Being Open Sky's, bleeding global economy ect), there is not going to be much sympathy for VA's future no matter how your sketch it.....just a fact.

Respect....SC

Hi SoCalGuy,

Fully understood. Not asking for sympathy, just countering some of the crazy rumors out there. I was dealt the sandwich you speak of on several occasions, the last time was the shut down of my previous carrier, so I know what you speak of.

Would I prefer to be back at the old place, with a good contract? Sure, but it's gone, and no body else is hiring. I tried the regular world and was going crazy in a cube farm. Corporate/fractional doesn't appeal to me and I'm not going to go overseas for any amount of cash, so here we are, wearing the black shirt.

VA does things a bit different. But hey, we got real stripes now.

Really? I thought the current "powers-that-be" were all about being union friendly.

"Foreign billionaire creates LCC using under market rate non-union workers" isn't the sort of title that most pro-union politicians like to defend.

Understand, I'm not rooting for VA to fail, exactly. But I wouldn't count on an appeal to politicians to save your business model, either.

Guess we will know soon......

Alaska Airlines Says asked DOT to promptly issue order that Virgin America no longer qualifies as U.S. carrier
3/12/2009 1:17 PM ET
(RTTNews) - Alaska Airlines, a unit of Alaska Air Group Inc. (ALK: News ), said it has asked the U.S. Department of Transportation or DOT to promptly issue an order tentatively finding that Virgin America no longer qualifies as a U.S. carrier.

In its filing, Alaska Airlines cited a March 9 Wall Street Journal story reporting that U.S.-based investors in Virgin America had exercised their rights to sell back their almost 77% of the startup carrier's capital to the London-based Virgin Group Ltd., according to people familiar with the situation.
