You know it is amazing how many bitter, ****ed off and negative people are on this site.. I mean maybe you should look at this as at least somebody it giving people jobs, trying to start business in the middle of this recession.

I'm not bitter or P.O.ed, and I don't have an MBA but I think the business model is a bit strange. Remember, this isn't an airline, Pet Airways is a freight forwarder that is contracting with Suburban. They started with 727s and 580s on their web page and they're running a 1900. So the question is, is the market not quite what they thought it would be or were they trying to trick people into thinking that they'd be running a 727? And has Suburban hired anyone for this run?

Back in 1973 I thought Federal Express with little purple jets was strange.

They could be onto something.

Obviously the people with 727's and 580's thought it was a flop, but 1900 crew seems to think it will work.

I think small is the way to start with this for sure... but with the small they won't be hauling mass quantities quickly.

Good luck to Suburban!

I heard Ellen DeGeneres is one of the backers. We'll see what happens. People with alot of money, spend alot of money on their pets.

Default Pet Air Passenger Interview

Here's a report from one of the passengers:

“We sat on the tarmac for hours. No announcements were being made. The flight attendant did not offer any water or Milkbones. Every thing was jammed up and congested and everybody was smelling each other’s butts. Someone left a turd under my seat! I had to potty but since there’s no tree in the cabin I took a pee on the seat in front of me. Some b**ch wasn’t paying attention to her puppies and they were kicking the back of my seat and yelping the whole time. It was madness! When I finally got to my destination, they had lost one of my bags. It had my grooming brush in it so I looked awful. I had to get one from Pet Smart before my meeting. The bag I did get had been run over by a baggage cart. My leash was stolen. I’ll never fly this airline again!”

I saw ABC Nightly News do a segment on the pet airline. What's ironic is the pet cages are stacked up in the cargo compartment of an airplane which is the same thing that's going to happen with a regular airline. The only difference is they take the dogs out and walk them between connections. There is also a vet on call -- if needed. But, I guess there are going to be some bleeding hearts out there that are going to pay for this.

I wonder what Ceasar the Dog Whisperer would say about this .. haha.

The runs are being flown by old timers at Subair, but they hired people (including me) to fly the DHL runs those guys were flying.
