Risk Management

I know this is something pilots deal with daily. Especially as a captain, I got to the point where each and every action I took, there were numerous negative consequences that would flash in my head. In other words, if I do A, then bad things B, C, D might occur. This is so ingrained in me that I now do it when driving my car!
The issue now is this. I'm applying for a job with an insurance company in their risk managment department. What are some things I can put on paper to explain my experience with this?
I think I'm having a hard time with it because it's like tying my shoes. After awhile you just do it without thinking.

What your describing (even while driving) in the military is called Operational Risk Management (ORM). When dealing with the Insurane Company you should speak to the 5 tenets of ORM and use the key words when discussing how you would apply ORM to your job with them.

Why is this on the Major's forums?
Why would a Risk Manager seek resume writing advice from a bunch of borderline illiterate middle aged men who type phonetic fixes into a FMC? Was that TURBO, TRBOW, or I dunno, try TURNB, yeah it took that, oh wait, that's in South America, GET ME A VECTOR!
Be careful, many of the insurers are neck deep in losses from credit default deals and other departments are getting budgets slashed. Perhaps American International should change their slogan.

If you think flying sucks enough to bail out, just wait till you have spent a few weeks in a cubicle, and then you notice the new guy's cubicle is 4 inches larger than yours and has a view of the window!
Dr. Dude prescribes a 45 minute VFR flight enjoying this pretty spring weather and a picking up "Office Space" for viewing to remind you of the joys of living like a gopher that runs from one hole to another hole and back again, day, after, day, after, miserable, day.

If I hear from one more person who knows absolutely nothing about airlines, that I just need to get a job at (take your pick) American, United, Delta, Southwest...I think blood will shoot out of my ears!
