Default More new routes for Alaska

Alaska Airlines to fly San Jose-Austin 'nerd bird' - Austin Business Journal:

Alaska introducing another new route: San Jose - Austin

Yet still planning on furloughing up to 80 more this Fall....hmmmm
Awful lot of new flying for us but hey, the furlough has NOTHING to do with the new contract's scheduling section!!! It's ALL about the soft Mexico market right?

Yeah.

What about the Hawaii, and MSP?
I know there was a training bubble from the MD-80 dismissal but it sounds like AS is adding block hours.

Think about it. They're replacing short West Coast routes with long hauls. Long hauls mean more aircraft utilization with fewer pilots.

Latest rumored fall furlough projection: 60.

The 60 does not factor in the ELOAs, Voluntary Furloughs, RBBP, and RRP right?

I've heard that there's going to be another round of early outs.

There will NOT be another round of "early-out's"

Straight from a "guy" in a meeting with GB.

Which is and has been an AA route. We are now stopping service, and oh wow, here comes our code-share parter Alaska starting up the same service.

AA

Well, that's exactly how Alaska got into ORD, BOS and DFW. AA pulled back and we took over. The codeshare allowed you to continue to market our flights as AA flights.
