The only thing that happened was the lowering of the bar and it has continued with regard to scope, pay, work rules, QOL etc... Here we find ourselves again, looking on as the landscape changes for another group, which directly affects us, and we turn our heads.

This is the time for ALPA national to show some leadership, which I think has been lacking all these years. Why have all this unity if we are not willing to use it. We have an amazing amount of power, regardless of what people think. We need leaders willing to call all of us to action. Let this administration and congress know the RLA needs a fixin' ASAP. And show the Walmart shoppers of this country, we are not subsidizing their trip to Disney anymore. We all do have the power to change this industry, however we just need leaders willing to exercise this power. Too much apathy in our ranks. We have to be wiiling to fight. I am thankful for the previous generations who built this profession. I don't want to be the generation looked at by future generations as responsible for its dismantling.
This reminds me of when the US Airways' pilots had their pensions terminated. No one cared because everyone else still had their pensions. Why should they stage an illegal walkout? They still have everything. Low and behold less than five years later, just about everyone had their pensions terminated. I feel this situation will end the same. In the end, everyone will have their jobs outsourced. We just don't care because as of right now, we still have our jobs. Domestic flying will be outsourced first followed by international flying via joint ventures or code shares.

I agree. Midwest is not the only carrier to suffer this kind of fate. It has already started at United, American and Delta. It would not surprise me to see American park their MD-80's, buy a bunch of new RJ's, like they have all ready done, and stick the name Eagle on the side of them. When the Pilots grieve it, all they have to do is look at the Republic airplanes flying around with the little "connect" stickers behind the big painted MIDWEST. Flown by pilots who don't care and congratulate themselves on getting the flying all the while telling the people they replaced to "Move on." Again, where is that GoJets application?

Agreed. Is there any lobbying to change that?

I don't think there's any fail safe against going BK.

Go figure. Midwest never went bankrupt and they no longer exist. You guys say it was a doomed business model, but the company operated for over 20 years without a bankruptcy. Frontier files for bankruptcy and they are still in existence.

Take a business class then get back to me on that. Frontier had things midwest didn't. You are completely correct that Frontier is still in existence. There's a reason for that. The situations with Frontier and Midwest are so different there's nothing to compare outside of the fact that both Company A and Company B fly airplanes. At the rate people keep backtracking with their "facts" we'll soon be hearing how Midwest was created by Chautauqua 30 yrs ago to circumvent DAL scope. Shouldn't you be preparing to perform that illegal job action you're so advocating or is your new position worth too much after all the time you spent at the regional you're now bashing along with those you use to work with?

Blaa Blaa Blaa. Oh, by the way, your spelling is off in your lame attempt to flame. There is no comma after the word "Another" in your post. Just thought you might want to know that. You can thank me later when you are pulling my gear.
