Heard a rumor and wondering if anyone can confirm? Heard that AWA Poolies had been sent a thanks but no thanks letter? Anyone?

Thanks

I was an AWA poolie. I never got the letter saying "thanks but no thanks." The last correspondance I recieved was telling me that I was still in the "pool." That was about 7 months ago, and I have recieved no further information. I am opting to continue pursuing AWA since I am a Tempe resident and have no desire to commute to work.

Any further info is appreciated!

Since AWA bought USAirways, the AWA poolies should have priority for hiring over ANY USAirways furloughee. It's only fair to the poolies who actually wanted to work at AWA. I doubt any USAirways pilot wanted to work at AWA. Now the furloughee's are bitching about how they are "entitled" to a job at a company they didn't want to work for in the first place.

Not sure where you got your bad information, but several entities invested in the 'new' US Airways:
  • ACE Aviation Holdings Inc. (Air Canada)
  • Eastshore Holdings (Air Wisconsin Airlines Corp.)
  • PAR Investment Partners L.P.
  • Peninsula Investment Partners L.P.
  • Airbus

I personally know an AWA poolie that was flushed...

No money was invested by AWA or by anyone on the property of AWA. The pilots of U on the other hand are handing over 600 Million a year. SO AWA DID NOT!!!!!! BUY USAIRWAYS!!!!!!!!GOT IT!!Also , Doogie Parker had little to do with the entire financing part of the deal. It was done entirely by USAirways Prez. Bruce Lakefield, who use to be a wall steet finance type. Get your facts straight.

What sacrifice? So far I haven't seen any sacrifices by the "Catus" crowd.
