You're not the only one.
Without starting the same dog and pony show we've been through before, I still cant understand why people can justify looking like garbage at work or elsewhere for that matter. I guess have too much self-respect.
...
P.S. Spare me the "they don't pay me to look like a professional" argument. Do you or have you ever gotten paid to look nice when you go to dinner, weddings, funerals, college parties (when in college), bars, etc.?

"When they pay me like a professional, I'll dress like a a professional" Guess what management is saying- "when they dress professionally, we'll pay professionally"
The whole pay thing is just a (bad) excuse for the guys who have no respect for themselves, their profession or their colleagues. I had to wear a tie in high school and it was insanely hot, but my classmates and I found the discipline and self control to do it. We also had to make sure shoes were polished, pants were seamed etc...A bunch of kids could do it back then (and still do it today), why can't an airline pilot?
Of course you're not gonna look like a million bucks after your 5th leg of the day, but it's obvious that some guys just don't care at all. By the time I become an airline pilot, I'd have made a lot of sacrifices, and put in a lot of hard work. I'm going to be proud of my accomplishment. I'm going to make sure I look the part.

Read my last post. Mgmt will NEVER pay you anything based on how you dress.
Look good because you're a pro and that's your nature. If you're doing it to exact 'rewards' from mgmt, you're a drone and will be manipulated by mgmt and others.

all for the white tops w/wo blue eps...no tsa blues. The faded washed too many times blue doesn't look to great. It was a great idea but now its just being ripped off...my 2c

You should dress properly out of a sense of pride, not just to show how much money you make.
First impressions count, and if I see a professional (in any field) who doesn't care enough to be properly dressed, it forces me to question how much he cares about the quality of his work.

I wear my Delta unifrom with Pride because I worked my a$$ off to get here. That said, I dont think I look like a stuck up tool. If me wearing my uniform with pride, shoes polished, pants and shirt pressed, clean cut, makes me look like a "tool" to you then so be it! I am proud of my accomplishements and will continue to look proud in my uniform regardless of what you or others may think.
This is by no way intended to come off as bashing you, just stating how I feel about my uniform and my company

DAL pilots in general do look sharp with their black uniforms. I think Pilotguy meant to say SOME DAL pilots look like they walk with their nose stuck up in the air. I think most DAL pilots are a good bunch but I've met some that fits Pilotguy's description. Of course this is true at all airlines not just at DAL.

But didn't you say this in a previous post?:

You made both of the underlined comments. I'm confused, which do you believe? The second one is the one I disagreed with you on.

Fugawe,
What I'm saying is that both groups will find some poor excuse to stand their ground on the issue of salary vs attire.
The pilots will say that better salary will yield better attire
The management will say that better attire will yield better salary
Neither group is sincere because they're just using the excuse to cover up a deeper problem. Understand that we're saying the same thing now?
