Plus, lesson learned, don't say shiite to the media. Call the union and hunker down. Both incidents are not what they seemed. How they were handled is a whole 'nother story. The press is clueless. If you feed them, they will eat you.
Ferd <----ex cop so don't shoot the poster |
These are 2 lucky dudes, they land on a taxiway and due to the following day's events, they became forgotten. They better pitch in for their fallen NWA brothers' thanksgiving turkeys....and then some!

Add the cops to that list. My understanding is it was the MSP cops and FBI that released those guys names in the first place.
Ferd <----ex cop so don't shoot the poster I have a friend from my previous carrier that had an emergency a few weeks ago (the usual zero flap landing). Airport cop was waiting for them in the jet bridge...started quizzing him and stuff. He simply told him, "you can read my name off my badge and get the report from the Feds after I submit it through the proper means...that's all you need to know." That's how we all need to handle it. The NW 188 guys blew it in that regard... |

I have absolutely nothing against cops....That said, what does this guy (the cop) think he's going to get out of questioning a Pilot about an emergency? I mean seriously......
I had the same happen in DTW after an occurence of the same nature, and another...and another, haha. Reportedly, the DL guys in the "Mike" incident had a similar experience. Nothing says "you need to talk to me" like an airport cop.... |

For those who missed it:
YouTube - Don't Talk to Cops, Part 1 As suggested, this holds doubly true for the media! |

They keep statistics on calls and response actions, how long it took, how often they are called, etc ... . |
