A perfect example of why having different pilot unions will only result in fighting. We need a national union with all pilots gathered together by the same rules.

Wow, what an amazing realization..... How did you ever figure that out.

ALPA Eagle is no different than APA. Each self serving, and protecting their own members... It will not change, and many have no desire to see it change.

Many including our own and dear beloved Beagle pilot routinely criticize APA, yet ALPA (and ALPA Eagle) acts no differently.

If only the APA could come up with a financially viable plan that would interest AMR ?

For a corporation that just ****ed half a billion patunias out the window last quarter alone, the 'scortched earth/line in the sand' strategy isn't likely to either succeed or materialize.

Perhaps it's best to wait until AMR goes to town via PPBK and solves all their problems............sure looks like its inevitable, don't it ?

I mean, Arpey and the boys seem pretty bland about it in the interviews.......could it be something that's ultimately necessary ?

I think the APA might want to start thinking outside the box and become proactive instead of waiting around for fate to slip them a rusty musket.

It seems to me that what we all saw with the UAW a few years ago is happening to labor in our business as well. We have effectively priced ourselves out of jobs, period. You can cry "management sucks" all you want but the fact of the matter is when you fly 65 hard hours a month, max, and your costs are much higher than the competition, things will get ugly. I wish we could all make the "glory days" wages but those days are long gone. How many quarters of red ink do AA folks need to see before they come to their senses.

AMR Corp. Q1 2010 Earnings Call Transcript -- Seeking Alpha

On Pacific, I would like to flesh out a little bit more color there. It was a little bit softer than I think I was looking for personally. The ATA data last night showed about 10.5% growth out of the Pacific. You reported about a 90 basis point decline. How is JAL or is it impacting that at all? I think we initially thought maybe there was some opportunity there for you to pick up some of the traffic that JAL would be losing as they are restructuring but is it actually having a negative impact in the sense some of their domestic restructuring is impacting a lot of the fees into Narita?

Gerard Arpey

I don’t think so. I think it is more a matter that if you look at our Pacific presence it is more heavily weighted to Japan as opposed to other Asia. If you dissect the results for the quarter what you will see is other Asia was a bit stronger than Japan in general. I think it is more of an entity mix question for us.

Hunter Keay - Stifel Nicolaus

There is really no relative impact from a fee perspective with JAL restructuring?

Gerard Arpey

No I don’t think so.

"...as long as everyone else is stapled on a national list junior to me." Recover. (In the gray, roll away...) It'll never, ever happen. And shouldn't. Unless everyone is stapled on a national list junior to me...

Is juvenile sarcasm another of your rules of debate? No wonder the Eagle pilots don't trust you.

The ALPA pilots I know said this is exactly why their union never made national seniority list. None of the mainline pilots wanted to risk losing seniority to another airline.
