I'm just saying.

Yeah.....like it was ALPA's idea for this to happen. ALPA may not be effective, but I find it incredible how many folks blame ALPA for the greed of managements. Maybe if the members of this industry would show a little more solidarity ALPA would be more effective. ALPA is a tool and it is a poor craftsman who blames his tools.

Defense relating to your counter would be most appreciated. Although the second part of your thoughts contradicts your first part as it shows fear and apprehension in your keystrokes..

Tell me Dicecal… why do manufacturers, globally, outsource work overseas??? You can’t honestly think it was to spend more money and cut down on their profit margins… do you?

So tell me Dicecal… If it works for manufacturers why wouldn’t businesses within transportation sector follow the same concept? To think that the board of directors have your interest at heart is quite naďve… wouldn’t you aggree?

Am I missing something here flyinaway? Did not see an answer to my question in your post. I was hoping for a response to my post requestiing accurate information concerning this new venture... which you did not provide... I guess.

Highly doubtful... with the terms and conditions for their current long haul pilots. Their pay and benefits are pretty decent. Their narrow body pilots are makeing pretty good money too.

Let's not leave IALPA out of the mix either.

They want you to be airport operations within an hour. Base the benefits, or lack there of, on that statement alone. Have you ever been to Dulles? To be in ops in an hour pretty much requires you to live 15 min from the airport.

Are you seriously interested in an operation like this?

Me personally??? not a prayer. I’m happy that I’m not flying with any dysfunctional airline in the US. Some of my expat colleagues would like to go home and try to recapture some type of quality of life at home again. They are interested particularly in the pay and benefits side of the contract.

I've flown out of Dulles. Luckely we overnighted at the Marriott on the airport property. Have they completed their tram project yet? How about security... any improvement?

"Quality of Life at Home"?

In all seriousness, i'm not even going to glorify the lipstick on the pig. Please inform YOUR expat friends that UAL Alpa has a grievance filed against this JV.

Need I say more?

No, I'm referring to the MEC that was so afraid of the bankruptcy judge that they were willing to agree to something without looking at its long term potential and that is about to really bite their buns in a big way. The IAD-MAD segment is but the first of what I feel will be more.

Forrest Gump was right.

At the time of the BK agreement, which I've been living in misery under for the past 6 years, this operation wasn't possible. You can thank the previous administration for the "Open Skies" that allows this to happen.

I hope these guys don't expect a jumpseat.
