Yes you are right, there still will be some aircraft in Northwest colors, however the decision was made that the call sign will only be Delta. If there are any incidents, I'm sure it will looked at again.

yup, flew a -30 this morning in NWA paint and it was Delta callsign. It was definitely tough to not say Northwest

It wasn't so bad, however I will admit to calling us "Nordelta" on quite a few occasions. For me, re-wiring my brain to hear "Delta 123" may take a while. I made the controllers call me more than once today...

Only screwed up the calls a dozen times or so enroute to SEA tonight. Brain wasn't keyed to pick up on the controllers calling us Delta either. Maybe tomorrow I'll do better!

Could definitely hear the brain strain in the DAL-N guy's voices today trying to say Delta. Also more than the usual calls on guard to -N flight numbers. It's hard to tune up the ears for something new like that.

Got a text from one of my buddies that works at pinnacle in DTW saying "I think I've heard Northwe....er.....Delta xxxx about 100 times so far today."

As far as "Northwest colors," since there is only one callsign now, that will not be utilized.

FWIW, the last airplane to use the "Northwest" callsign was NWA802 from HNL-ATL that landed this morning. I'll really miss hearing it....

It's really hard for me to answer that objectively, but it wouldn't suck for me if I still were working at the same job in (essentially) the same company... But the reason I stated what I did was because all of the airlines I named are out of business and most of those pilots were unemployed. THAT sucks. Northwest's callsign going away might be sad, but relatively speaking..... naaaah.. dosen't suck. JMO

I've used the airline call sign out of habit a few times when flying the G/A airplane. That's always embarrassing, but when it happens, I stop getting the "kid gloves" treatment from ATC. That's not to say you NW guys will be treated any better using the Delta call sign.
