The Wall Street Journal reports this evening that JAL "is planning to announce Tuesday afternoon in Tokyo that it will maintain its alliance with AMR Corp.'s American Airlines, according to a person familiar with the matter, dealing a blow to rival Delta Air Lines Inc."
Reports – all citing unnamed sources – have swirled for weeks that JAL had picked one side or the other. None of those reports, however, have come to fruition. Still, the Journal's report this evening is the first to suggest a concrete timetable for a JAL announcement. Stay tuned …
