I don't think this is any different than what Icelandair has been successfully doing for decades, except they stop in KEF instead of Gander. Stansted is very much a London Airport, as convenient as LGW.

KEF makes a little sense if you're ICELANDair.

And their main business is to shuttle people from N America to Europe.

There is a difference. Not only does KEF have it's own o & d, but it functions as a hub. Flyers from MSP, SEA, BOS, EWR, etc., connect thru KEF to multiple points throughout Europe.

Gander or whatever stopover point is not a hub. You have pax enplaning in one city who are generally flying to one other city.

Icelandair offers free stopovers in KEF and they market tour packages for Iceland. Is SCY marketing tour packages for their stopover city?

Icelandair at least serves 'a purpose' of getting you up to the "Blue Lagoon", non-stop none the less.....that place rocks!

No they connect people through KEF to various other dest in Europe... This is a point to point flight with a tech stop in Gander. The reason why Ice Air has been doing this and doing it well is because of there connections through KEF.
This is a just another stupid idea from a company barely holding on.

Oh and EOS was a good airline and the service was top notch! They just had zero marketing and advertising.

This flight is once a week for two months. Only 8 or 9 total flights, perhaps in conjunction with a tour company and they are selling extra seats; just like USA3000. They have spare capacity in the summer so they are putting it to use

The reason for the England flying is to demonstrate and then attain DOD flying. Don't read too much into it.

I was thinking the same thing, they seem to do a lot of military flying.
