PG;
I think it is great to have. It costs me a little money, but in the end it is an added benefit for my family. I also buy ADD and Term Life among a few others outside of the airline industry for my family.

I use the 10 year metric and then add 50K to it for my coverage.

Any AD&D or Life Insurance benefit that is paid by a company beyond 50,000 Dollars US, is taxable. You will see in your paycheck a dollar about that by the end of the year will equal your tax on this benefit.

Yeah, pretty much what I was saying.

Remember you're only required to wear you blazer about 4-5 months out of the year so they hold up pretty good.

For some reason mine continues to shrink with age...:(

Thanks-I understand that you have to pay for it, however, I am just curious as to whether many find utility in a membership. Thanks.

Most folks only find utility if they're a commuter or if they're running a second business that provides paid air transportation (mixing business and non-rev is a big no-no).

FWIW

Personally, I see no need for a membership to the SkyClub. If I am sitting in an airport waiting for a connection, I can always go to a crew lounge. They do offer the 25 dollars per visit if you want to try it out.

As slow points out, never use your Non-Rev privileges for anything but personal use. That includes the discount option, "Fly Confirmed for Less." They are part of your "Non-Rev benefit."

Thanks for the clarification PG. :)

Now it's time to show this to my wife. :p

Now that's funny...I was thinking the same thing. Last night when I got home she kissed me and said "honey, I don't know what I'd do without you". Then she smiled!

Our recall class had all thee companies come in and give their speal. Abbot looked the most professional & the blazer looked to be constructed the best. I fell for his pitch. Just got the blazer and after hanging in the closet for 3 days it's still very wrinkled in the sleeves. I also hear that their quilted lining can get very hot in the terminal but helps when doing the walk around.

I wish I would have gone w/ M&H. I was still using 10 y/o pants I got from them @ NWA when I was @ AS. No sign of wear. Skip the 'shark's skin.' Too hard to match. M&H also has a great package deal including shirts. I had to pay out of pocket for shirts after Abbot took me for $500 for the jacket, 2 slacks & a hat.

Once last bit of info I've learned. A lot of guys wear costco or like black blended slacks for the summer months when they don't have to wear the blazer. Much cheaper & in some cases more comfortable.

Good luck in the spending spree!

Baja.

Abbott tends to be warmer, & yes I'm sure non standard pants that breath easier float around during non-blazer season. :)
