I have been a member of World Club/Sky Club for the last 10+ years. For me it has been well worth it. I usually have 3-4 hrs wait for my commute home to kill and it is alot better than sitting in the Whine Cellar (crew room). The agents are very helpfull. Snacks and drinks available. Many have very clean showers to freshen up. You just have to decide if the price is worth it. For a young guy I would consider buying a lifetime membership. You will be better off in the long run. Hope this helps

Ok last question hopefully, what about headsets? I'm going to the Mad dog, any suggestions? I guess I won't be needing my giant david clarks from the C-5.

It's a relatively quiet airplane. Most use the Telex, 750 I think, or whatever they like, Sennheiser, Bose, etc. Point is you don't need to cover your ears like in some other airplanes. Although, there are a few out there that produce some really irritating wind noise around the window.

I bought the ANR 850 if I ever chose to fly the 73N. Works great and I have had no issues with it on any DAL jet.
I see many single sided ones as well. |
ACL - Many using the Bose w/ UflyMike's?

Baja. I got a Telex 850 and it works great. It's good for international too. The noise canceling allows you to hear foreign controllers better plus you don't need a battery. I got one with both earpieces vs. the one with one earpiece (again it's better than one for international) and just fly domestically with the one pushed behind my cross cockpit ear. Plus, if you don't already have the bose headphones, the price will probably be close. I got my 850 off of ebay. Denny |
Thanks for the reply Denny....I've been using the UFlyMike for a while. Great sound and also great to commute w/. I'll have the bud w/ me if someone asks...otherwise business as usual. Good to hear. I'm sure the new pure Bose are incredible, but a full 'G'....I don't think so.

Once last bit of info I've learned. A lot of guys wear costco or like black blended slacks for the summer months when they don't have to wear the blazer. Much cheaper & in some cases more comfortable.
