Typical partisan response - blame the other party even when your party has control of the government.

I'd never thought I'd be one to say this but... "How far will this go."
I cant wait to see the TSA approved jump suits that will be mandatory for each flight. That just might make security go a bit faster actually.

I wonder how long until either A) people accept this and move on with life (I do NOT) or B) something big blows up and they are all pulled (like some TSA worker storing pictures of little kids).

Big Brother, or in this case Big Sis, is alive and well. Not only that, but they're prospering. The TSA and the Department of Homeland Security are the very epitome of government overreach. The move towards a police state that began under Bush's Patriot Act is in full bloom under Obama.

The last thing I would consider myself to be is an ACLU supporter. On this issue though, they are right. The government has gone to far and without any belief that things will be better. Just when did any of us vote to surrender our rights just to fly on commerical airliners? I know I didn't.

It's time for our government to wise up and realize a one size fits all approach to airport security is wrong and unreasonable. Political correctness has lead to this overreach and it's time to understand that profiling is the right approach. It's not white Catholics who are trying to blow up planes, but we have seen black Muslims trying to do so.

I urge everyone to contact their representatives and urge change. The fourth amendment is not thrown overboard when you buy an airline ticket.

All this 4th amendment stuff is good, until we lose an aircraft.

It's a tough call.
I don't know of a single post on these forums that doesn't advocate screening passengers...but we need to be screening intelligently. What we're currently doing (the TSA that is) is just for show. I give you for evidence/exhibit A, just last week the ink jet printer cartridge bombs. New this week? No ink jet printer cartridges allowed on the aircraft. This is exactly the reaction post 9/11--"Oh! we can't have box cutters on aircraft anymore". The TSA is either reactionary, or completely overboard on their "preemptive" measures. Screen....but do it smart.

"you touch my junk, I'll have you arrested".

Should be the new mandatory phrase that women should know whenever Ben Roethlisberger is present.

What if someday a terrorist shoves a bomb up his butt? Then what? Rectal exams for everybody??

"Sir, I am going to have to ask you to pull your pants down and spread you ankles, we need to search your rectum".
