All I could say was WOW! (more USA East/West)
So I am departing the east coast yesterday and we get the usual jumpseaters heading west. I decided to go out and grab a coffee prior to departure and noticed a pilot waiting, I have a hard time saying company pilot because every since we BOUGHT that trash pit USair its been one nightmare after another. So he was an east guy and you all know the type, entitled to everything but brought ZERO except to this abortion of a merger except his furlough date.
Well he was waiting I think hoping to get a seat in the back as opposed to having to come up and ask to ride with us. Hey I passed that whole jumpseat hostage thing now anyway. So he lucks out and gets a seat in back (THANK GOD). I usually get done with all my pre departure items very early as I hate having to scramble at the last minute. So I am standing in the cockpit door way greeting the pax as they board and in he comes. I put on my best attitude which is very difficult for me when I am faced with them as it is. I say " hey whats up bro" and I get only rolled eyes back. The flight attnd asked "did he just snub you? I said yeah but no worries as I completely understand his childishness. I told her he is the worst the industry has to offer and he knows it. He looks at me and sees that even though we work under the same banner, I have better pay and benefits. He is stuck for the foreseeable future welded to the right seat of a narrow body a/c making what our west 5yr fo's make which aint great but its better then they have and that keeps me warm at night!!! She laughed and said "small minds" I said yup that they own outright.

I wish you & your pilot group the very best of luck in merging your two companies. I sincerely hope, as nearly everyone else in this industry, that the New US Air will once again be a great, proud airline.

I have no reason to doubt the the post is sincere. Nearly all of us have friends from 'former lives' over there, at the East, or West side. It's pretty much a food fight, best I can tell. I truly hope they get it together. Soon.

The Nic award would not have done any harm and that has been proven but this usapa has inflicted harm that will never be forgotten or go away. I am certain that we will never see east/west crews flying together unless its management pilots as the risks are just too great for conflict. In short absent another merger this place in doomed and with all the employee disharmony there is no carrier out there that will come within 100 miles of usair to merge. Sure the courts will seal the deal and the arbitration will stand in the end but so much damage has been done that usair is not viable. Now I watch as this so called legacy carrier gets paid worse than a pilot at Spirit!! Sad sad sad!!!!

I have to agree with LostInPA...there are numbskulls on both sides. Surprise...it's human nature.
Here's a newsflash for you. YOU and the West pilots bought NOTHING. The shareholders did. So unless you have your name on the check, you are nothing more than a blue collar worker bee. You own no special rights.
I'd suspect your attitude was plain for the world to see in the gate area. Had I been that guy, I likely wouldn't have said much to you either. And, "hey, what's up bro???" What kind of a comment is that from someone who is supposedly professional?
No different than the comments you claim were made in the crewroom...if you and your compatriots can do no better, then you will get nowhere.
Each of us...including you...is where we are by luck of the draw...and the whims of the HR person who closed their eyes and picked a resume up...nothing else. If you want to see things improve, why don't you start by changing the way you address your fellow professional?
And no, I'm not an Eastie...or a Westie. Just someone who has been around for many years, has friends on both sides and see a lot of idiots on both sides fanning the flames.

The list is similar to the DAL-NWA integration, they moved on, the East refuses to!
