I realize that this is a forum, but recent events have shown that social media can have a great impact on issues. There is the opprotunity here to voice opinions and debate important company, industry and professional issues by pilots from different companies and countries. When we end up with name calling and making derogatory comments about each other we defeat our own message.
There is a thread on "the state of the profession" and though professional appearance is important a professional attitude is even more so. When I was a nurse it was said that "nurses eat their young" with new nurses being treated poorly and expected to sink or swim. It took a professional cultural change to make older nurses realize that looking after new nurses and treating them right improves working conditions as well as the profession. I think this is needed in our profession in both unionized and non-unionized airlines.

Here's a little tip for you. When you get to JetBlue or whatever ever airline hires you I recommend you lose the military attitude. Be proud of your service and enjoy the camaraderie with your fellow military aviators but your prior service doesnt give you the right to get holier than thou. Thanks for serving but you're just another airline pilot now. No better and no worse than the guy sitting next to you.

On Wednesday at 0700 I'd appreciate a posted retraction in regards to my employment status at JBlue. Soon my voice will be heard with the power of my vote. Oh who cares, let's have some fun and everybody relax.
