Yeah, we're looking forward to that stuff too but we're genuinely MOST looking forward to a much more pleasant working environment, so quit trying to tie the two together for your own SLI leverage. Greed will kill this thing....... as AT treis to grab Seniority, SWAPA throws them "spirit parties" in ATL, the SWAPA pilots are watching whats left of the culture die and getting more and more mad. The concept of a fair SLI is when everyone is mad (so I've been told) - the result - a bunch of mad people. It won't be a pleasant working environment when we are ****ed off. Sorry to say it. -Aloha |
Aloha,
As a partaker in many cockpit discussions about this subject.... I'm also sorry to say that you're right. If the Air Tran guys get greedy.... our culture will be shot. |

Won't be much 1,2,3ing together if this SLI goes the wrong way
I'll file your opinion under; 'A fear laden view from a person with 3 years experience as an airline pilot. At the bottom of the Southwest seniority list'. The fastest way to destroy any culture is the attitude you exhibited in your post. |

What do you mean by greedy? Didn't AT nearly triple there operation in recent years?? This is leading to very quick upgrades and great career expectations. Hopefully they don't push to staple too many SWA FO's! That may appear greedy to some!
AT pilots are going to get a huge raise. They're going to get better work rules. They're going to have reduced commutes. They're not going to have to go on strike to get a new contract. Their union dues are going to be reduced. They're much younger than most of the guys on the SWAPA list so over time, retirements will help their career more than the SWA pilots. What are they willing to give up for all that? Anything? |

So, to paraphrase, depending on your current status (AAI or SWA) its either DoH or Staple. And if it doesn't go that way, you're going to be an uptight screw for the rest of your career.
Wow. Just wow. |

SteelHorseFlyer, oh no you didn't start discussing SLI expectations..... :-)
Seriously though, I'm axin' you nicely to abide by our MEC's request and leave all that to the two MCs. Pretty please with cherry on top. Thanx man. |
Wow... USAir 2.0 in the making. Pay rates and work rules should have no bearing on career expectations. Same equipment... hope the arbitrator fairly integrates y'all.
