It's also the singing for me - that makes for a complete package (maybe the big wallet too)...
Can you hold a puppy too, while you are performing? |

Now that is spin!
They get the benefit because they are airline pilots. What would it say about ALPA to make this exclusive? ALPA getting this done show the benefit of our union its pull to all of the other independents. It took 10 year, all have tried and only ALPA working with the ATA and the DHS got this done. Great on them. It is our due dollars at work. Stating that they need to be worried about something more important is so fricken typical. A few months ago people were screaming that ALPA needed to get this done to show true value. They have and now everyone is acting very ungrateful. It illustrates the biggest issue this union and this country face. (Its all about me) And how is stating that their being worried about their self interests is "fricken typical"? It's smart. They spend their dues monies on issues that affect SWA pilots... And ALPA will NEVER require any benefits that they achieve to be paid for by those other guys, so why would they join? Smart... Your statement reeks of frustration in that you know I am right. Personally, and this is my personal point of view.. I couldn't care less about crewpass. Yes I hate going thru security, but it's not worth the angst. As long as there is a crew line, and we don't have to take off our shoes or go thru that radiation thingy, I'm OK... It's 10 minutes out of my life... BFD... |

That is actually a very interesting question. If crews are having a hard time with their initial going to work check-in, then it is the crewmember's fault. Like many others, I commute, and I am ALWAYS there in plenty of time to make my flight. If it occurs mid rotation, it seems that it would be in the company's best interest to ensure that the wheels are greased so that getting thru security does not require being at the airport 2 hours ahead of push... (think about the new crew duty issues that are coming to light) Just an opinion... |

At CAL we have a very senior 777FO who was part of the national coverage last fall when these imaging machines went online. She was one who refused to go through the machines, but because she had a hip or knee replacement would have to go through the pat-down routine. She refused and to this day has not come back to work and has been waiting for this to happen. Now it could be argued this is her choosing, but it could be argued that as a documented airline worker who has gone through her background and fingerprint check she doesn't need to be patted-down. She made it to work every day until this change last fall AND she will again when they roll this new Known Crewmember Program out. Please tell me what exactly is the difference for her? She will still be verified but avoid all the groping that she would have to go through today. I'm on her side in this and do feel that she is having trouble getting to work. |

And actually the answer is not so black-and-white.

This is definitely good, on the good/bad scale, but I'm disappointed to hear that we have to do more testing. I thought we had already taken care of that part.
I hope they can get rid of the in uniform requirement in the process. |

I don't understand how you can "test" this system. I go through crew pass a bunch and the only time there is a problem is when the internet is down. Besides, this is the only time where I get TSA to actually LOOK at my badge. Youre either approved or not. where is the testing?
