2. How BB and Co will negotiate with the IBT. There is a mountain of negotiating that needs to be accomplished in a short period of time.
3. What happens on the 61st day after the certification of a bargaining unit. Eischen says we need to have an agreement. What if we (they?) don't?
4. What will the IBT's new CBA look like? They are negotiating as we speak. 3000 sets of eyes are now watching.
5. Will I vomit all over myself when I attempt to put on an IBT lanyard?

Sorry about the last one, I just don't know if I should laugh or cry or just keep doing both.
1. BB only gets a say as the new CBA is negotiated. After that, he will have to abide by its rules (not his) wrt seat changes. (Not that RAH ever asks "what does the CBA say" unless it favors them - which it often does. When it doesn't, they violate it and it is grieved for years and years, sometimes ruled upon, then the co. asks for clarification and continues violating the intent and word of the CBA. That's how RAH does business)
2. They say they want a very fast short-term CBA signed. What they mean is we want the same terrible contract renewed for at least another year - NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Other than that, plan on mediation within 2 years or so... Nothing happens remotely fast with the IBT.
3. The sun will stand still in the sky.
4. JetBlue or better will be required to get anyone out of the top 200 to vote yes.
5. Depends on how well you can stomach JM'ing with RAH Planners and Schedulers...

Good luck to us all.

So does that mean you guys have given up on ALPA, or can we expect more phone "surveys"?

In the past two years, they've nailed down contracts for:

Horizon-not sure of the specifics, someone here does no doubt
AirTran Mechanics-payand benefit raises and scope
CAL Techs-first contract done in about 6 months-pay and benefit raises
Amerijet-pay and benefit raises
UAL Mechanics-just got a bridge TA with pay and benefit improvements as
well as job protections and returns of outsourced jobs
UPS Mechanics-just ratified, with the highest pay in the industry and no
cost medical
Atlas/Polar- 26% & 36% raises respectively. 20.1% profit sharing. And
growing like crazy
Omni- word is they're really close
Flight Options-pay and benefit gains

All that in the past two years? And for all that, they pay less in dues? Word is you guys have the same negotiator assigned to you that Atlas/Polar had. Let's face it, roadkill would have been more effective that Treichler, who negotiated...if you can call it that...the first contract. He's gone, they've cleaned the house in Washington and the track record is not too shabby...much to the dismay of some.

Great.

IBT meet Bedford,Heller & Henson

I've got an idea, let's all do exactly what they want to do. Welcome to the way it is at RAH. no change in sight.

Your parenthetical statement is as a result of the current book language, which BB, WH, and RH, et al, have ravaged because of how poorly written it is. Come, on, Article 2 Definitions has only 71 definitions and is four and a half pages long. LCC's definitions Section is as thick in pages as the IBT contract is in total.

BB is effectively whipsawing the pilot groups, especially the F9 side with his sentiments of "Gee, I feel sorry for you guys...sorry about the arbitrators' decision."

You collectively now have the opportunity to write a new contract and a new direction. The pilots decide whether to work together or not.

It looks like the YX pilots are on board with one of their ALPA guys now on the IBT NC. What will F9 do?

I'm only speaking of the clearly defined, black n white and in some cases, already arbitrated and "won" grievances that we have had. RAH does whatever they want and the IBT cries: the RLA has our hands tied - which might be true quite often. You have a lot to learn about RAH and SOP around here...

I will never put an IBT lanyard on. I don't even like wearing lanyards.
