Hey, does the FAA have a rule for airports that says if you are an alternate airport or have XX amount of gates that have airstairs accessible to all airlines to use and/or buses or if large enough a people mover.
I mean I've been in ATL when there are no gates for a long time for inbound flights. They could use people movers from a designated area to get people off, crews and bags will follow later.

Got a little "education" on this at a previous airline where XXXX was rapidly diluting XXX and XXX's connection flying and sending airplanes to all sorts of airports the regional carrier did not typically use, or used with approval for different types of equipment. As a new Captain, I asked, "how do we go here, it is not an approved airport?" and was told "don't worry about it." (fortunately I never was scheduled to go). Two months later we got whacked with a big fine from the FAA for operating into what amounted to airports which were not approved for our airline, or Type. After the fine was levied, the FAA gave us authorization, so go figure. No pilots got caught up in the mess (surprisingly).
