I believe United got some Pan Am 747SPs as well as some Pan Am L-1011s in that transaction and there were quite a few Pan Am pilots who went with the aircraft.
Interestingly those L-1011s were later sold to Delta and were referred to as "PUD" airplanes". (Pan Am United Delta)

Pan Am continued to operate for almost a year after Delta purchased the shuttle and Atlantic routes. Many pilots choose to stay at Pan Am. It would have been near impossible to purchase a portion of a airline and allow pilots to bid over in seniority order. The same situation existed when UAL purchased the Pacific routes.

No Carl, it's genuflecting. You do it on an almost daily basis.

This ^^ is the part of your post. You 'have no sympathy for the AirTran guys because'... well.. I think you can read what you wrote. And my "insult" as you call it is a "statement of fact" as you are so fond of saying, and I'll stand by it. You have not a clue as to what it would be like to put your job on the line - and please don't insult me by coming back with the while strike thing, because you know damn good and well that there would be an end to that, and it is a totally different thing. Your job was never reeeeeally in jeopardy at that point, and you know it. You have no real concept of fear by any true comparison. You are so far up the chain that you can't even imagine it.
The AirTran guys had a newly passed federal law on their side, but they willingly voted away those protections due to a fear campaign dished out by SWA and SWAPA. I just can't sympathize with a group who are manipulated by fear.
Is it "genuflecting" when I say that SWA and SWAPA dished out the fear campaign?
This reminds me of my ex-wife. Sometimes she was just in the mood to fight and facts didn't matter. So go hump somebody else's leg on this one dude, cause I aint playin anymore.
To the rest of the thread, I apologize for the drift.

First off, you don't know what it's like to strike and walk away from your job now do you. Second, you don't even know who I am. This is my fourth airline and you have no clue as to my experiences.

There is no such thing as thread drift on anonymous forums... it's all about the airline business, so it's all good.

If you fix this portion to read SWA, I'll buy it. SWAPA's sole input was, "Yes, they are serious."
