Southwest Rejection, again...

And no, I don't know why I wasn't hired. Trading emails with others in my interview group, others who got hired had some "hiccups" in their day, and still got in.

Mover guessed right. I'm Navy Reserve.
I'm in a unit that is both active and reserve. On the active side, guys are gone maybe 6-9 months max in a 3 year sea tour.. Meanwhile on the reserve side, 4 of 7 officers are either on a mob, or got flagged for a mob and are getting ready to go..
I was four days past min dwell from the last one.
The Navy reserves are fouled up.. We deploy more than a good chunk of AD..
I half jokingly say I'm Active Duty that gets laid off between deployments. The Navy doesn't want reserves, and it shows.. But congress dictates we have reserves.
They've cut over half of our flying jobs, while offloading 85+% of "Individual Augmentee" Mobilizations (which tend to be long term, year plus involuntary recalls to jobs/places that suck) to the reserves.
If I could pass the USAF 39" waist measurement I'd have gone Air Guard a long time ago.. But I'm basically a giant and even when I had a six pack, a long long time ago when I was an Ensign, I still tape in at 40" waist.

Well, I guess I can be a thread Necromancer.
Interviewed October 4th.. Felt like it went great.
TBNT email on the 14th as I was driving to the airport to go back to Afghanistan for L-3.
No idea what I did/said/looked wrong. I honestly walked out of there feeling really good / confident that I had done well.
As expected, zero feedback as to what I did wrong..
Only thing I can think of is I was barely over 1000 Turbine PIC, but that's what my app had when they called.
And now, I'm being involuntarily recalled to active duty, for a 14 month non flying job, three buildings down from where I work now in Afghanistan.
Bye bye currency... And my "first year pay reserve fund".

I had the TBNT too, interview on the 5th, I had already the 737 and time on the airplane. 11 of us from the morning and afternoon folks.. most of them got the class date, only 3 of us civilian got the TBNT. maybe Southwest wants only Military guys only? or who knows.. I also walkout very confident that everything went well. oh well, will reapply in one year.
good luck to the guys who are now schedule for the class this month.

They did you a favor. SWA is not all it's cracked up to be. Def. not what is used to be. 12 year upgrades, Mojo is gone, red-eyes coming, early starts, late ends, too much work for too little pay, crappy work rules compared to legacies. i.e. Don't get sick (garbage disability), no overtime (no premium pay as a junior guy), reserve is indentured servitude, tough dropping trips (no PTO), etc.
Too many great opportunities out there with legacies that offer 2-3 upgrades, wide body international, better work rules

SWA LUVs those military guys, supposedly because of their 'git r done', get in line, can-do disposition. Who knows. But a lot of my civilian buddies with 10K TPIC have been turned away while mil guys with min hours are getting hired. No disrespect to my mil brethren, but there is a bias for sure.

I used to feel as though SWA was only looking to hire military folks. However, my class was a dead even 50/50 mix of civilian and military. Of the civilian folks, 4 of us were corporate pilots. I have yet to fly with any military folks out on the line, but I know we all got along great in my class and there was zero civilian versus military attitude going on.
