Default Any rumors of Spirit opening a DFW base

Any chance in the future of a DFW base due to the expansion in 2012?

Thanks

I think this was discussed a bit in the Spirit thread.

We've had talks of ORD and rumors of DFW. You will find out if/when we do. I highly doubt we will open another base in 2012. LAS is still getting up to size and speed. Why do you ask?

Just heard a rumor that Spirit will be opening a DFW base. Not sure of the truth to this, however, the old offset terminal next to terminal E is being refurbished and brand new jetways have been installed. Makes me wonder.

We're gonna need them to accommodate our planned A330 expansion ; )

Have no idea if this is true, but I heard that all of terminal E is about to be refurbished/remodeled. As a result, they are firing up "gilligan's island" to handle the displaced airlines gates as they alternately close down and re-open sections of E in stages.

What about rumours of a Spirit/Allegiant merger? With Allegiant supposedly getting Airbus why not speculate on this as well? Similar models with a similar fleet...?

With the amount of growth Spirit is experiencing and if DFW flying continues to be successful, a DFW base will probably happen at some point in the future. As of right now there is nothing official.

Currently we have more departures from DFW than we do from LAS daily.

Yep, and if management has a Virgin/Airways friend living in Dallas, we might put a base there. :-)

I kid, I kid.
