somewhat different topic, but I remember hearing about a Buffalo Bills player from the early 1990's that retired and then got a job working for UAL. Anyone have any details on this or how it worked out for him? That would probably be an interesting guy to fly with.

OJ? No, I think it was a lineman. For all I know the media said it was UAL and it was really an express carrier. I just wondered how he would have been qualified for UAL at the time. May be he would CFI after the game?

January 1973 is the oldest hire at Delta (he is former NWA), and he'll be around another 3 years if he stays until 65. Hired just shortly before turning 23.

The oldest pilot in USA works at AE. The 65 rule was signed 4 hours before his 60th year birth hour. Don't know his DOH.

Yeahbut...being 'old' doesn't make you Number 1. I fly with F/O's who are over 60 all the time, they are thousands of numbers junior to me, and 10 years older than me. But they got hired in their 40's, after putting in a 20+ year career in the military.

Being hired young, and then staying healthy and flying until you are old makes you number 1, if you are lucky.

I'd rather be lucky than good, or old.

He had to be close to, if not, #1.

Imagine, a pilot with a boarding priority that is ahead of a flight attendant.
