What do other pilot groups think of our TA?
#12
I'm another RJ pilot here. PLEASE do not allow them to give us any more flying. This madness has to end. Take it ALL back and let the regionals go back to flying small (19 seat) turboprops.

I am rather surprised that this TA is even worthy of a debate. Management wants the Delta Pilots to agree to the outsourcing of their jobs for more money.
I can only imagine the next contract. "We need to trade-in 76 seaters for the 737 max to be flow at DCI...but it will be done on a 2 for 1 trade and a raise."
The concept of outsourcing has never been okay. If I were a Delta Pilot, the debate over where to draw the line in the sand would not even be a discussion. The only idea I would even consider would be to take all the flying back and what needs to be done to accomplish that goal. The "take the whole beach" concept should be the only goal that must be accomplished at all cost.
Without being able to keep the job, why would the level of pay, work rules, and benefits even matter? Haven't we all learned enough from this yet?

No matter how some try to justify the decrease in total DCI a/c etc etc.. Somehow, someway Delta pilots will get screwed..
Think about it....Delta management always wants scope relief... DALPA and management agree to this TA very very quickly...... You think Delta management would be willing to take a hit on scope so quickly?

As a UCAL outsider looking in.....
Just read the "DAL-MEC Negotiators' Notepad"-PDF (Dated May 24, 2012). The 11 page document mentioned above deals strictly with "Pay". Though impressive with lots of pretty graphs/color, has DAL's MEC bothered to publish something similar, with such detail, dealing strictly with the nuances/caveats that lay within the TA's SCOPE Provisions (outside of raw language)??
With SCOPE being the paramount concern, as evidence of the converstation in the thread thus far, I would think the DAL-MEC would have something out/equally as comprehensive as the "Pay" document mentioned above fully disecting the SCOPE topic.
Is there things in the SCOPE Provision that cannot be fully explained/justified??....Such as the Devil within??
If there's a comprehensive SCOPE summary, such as what was laid to tout $$pay$$, please post it.
Thanks.

IT may take a little longer to come up with the magic trick for selling the scope.
Pay was like... see look at my right hand putting money in your pocket with this pay raise...keep watching my right hand as my left takes money out of your pocket with reduction in profit sharing. If you run the numbers(As DAL has) we are losing$$$$.
The Scope Note Pad will be worthy of winning America's Got Talent for a Magic Act.
I loved the way they made the 401 contributions part of the % of a PAY RAISE. Pay is pay.Scope changes make this a NO vote..and that is it.

So Continental's CEO, Jeff Smiseck (keep in mind they have been at a standstill for years, and all of the pilots hate him and think he is sleezy) has said he LIKES Delta's TA. So that would be a HUGE increase in pay for the pilots. That should tell you something right there. And the pilots are all laughing at him saying "HeII No!" . They think we are fools for giving up scope. Regardless of how many 50 seaters we have we should NEVER give up ONE MORE airplane over 50 seats! Talk to Continental/united pilots. Actually, talk to someone who was hired at United 10 years ago that is still furloughed, and ask what they think about giving up large regional jets. Why oh why would we not just negotiate to have them at DELTA MAINLINE?
