Default WILL you work for SWA?

That really is the question. When we begin to interview and hire again you need to ask yourself this question. For the former AT folks the question is when you transition, WILL you really work for SWA? I believe the vast majority will embrace the job they have and contribute greatly. Those that don't I have one suggestion, don't bother coming over! If you don't act professionally I will personally utilize the 1500+sick trips I have and you can tell IT to my replacement.

Actually it is a legitimate question. I have become to old and synical to waste time with losers who speak a good game and then come on board and leave excrement in my pool. Whether you are a new hire in the future, a current employee, or an AT pilot please come on board to contribute. It really is that simple.

You really expect us to be hot to trot on "contributing" after the shenanigans that your union and company pulled on us? We're not, just so you're aware of it. Don't take my word for it. I fly with and talk to PLENTY of AirTran pilots. The senitiment is pretty much the same, but apparently you guys are just not "getting it". This latest fiasco with the 717s has created a new level of angst, and yet if the SWA pilots on this forum are any barometer of the sentiment on the canyon blue side, you're chosing to stick your head in the sand.

Just because they're not argueing with you doesn't mean they're agreeing with you.

I'm sure anyone who flies with you gets an earful. Maybe youre just falling for the old FO trick of, "let him rant, disagreeing with him is impossible anyway."

You know I can legitimately see how you'd think that. However, believe it or not, I actually try not to bring "it" up. Of course I'll discuss it with the guy if they want to. Frankly I'm a little suprised at how many F/Os I've flown with recently that are just as upset over things as I am if not even more so.

There's some things that just can't be resolved.

For example: we have too many pilots in the southeast US and there's going to be displacements. I'm sure every single displaced guy is going to be angry and there's no way the system could be fair to all of them.

I get that. MCO dudes on both sides are going to be angry and they are.

I have found every AT dude that I've actually met in person to be totally cool with coming to SWA. Even the Capts.

I did have one youngster tell me that he just thought they'd be treated better if they'd been purchased by an ALPA carrier. Well, history just doesn't bear that out. Recent comments on this board by DAL pilots don't bear that out.

AT wasn't going to survive as an independent forever. What exactly was the scenario you were hoping for?
