The terms of the leases are stipulated upon signing. The lease back return dates come and go regardless of Jetblue profit margins. If the lessor is willing to adjust the terms for the lessee than Jetblue does resign the agreement.
Typically the lease agreements are based on a specific time frame, incorporate cycles and total time on the airframe but rarely are based on profit margins. Upon reaching the end of an agreement Jetblue has resigned based on the lessors desire to maintain similar or better terms. Again, the agreements are rarely based on Jetblue profit margins. Sorry for the confusion. |

I don't expect lease returns in the near future. Could be wrong, but I don't think so. As long as we are doing well, which we are.

I would not be too worried about the American merger article that lists every possible airline they can merger with. Just about every analyst see no value in a JB/AA merger.

On the other hand, JB management and our BOD have said publicly that they want nothing to do with AMR (other than our code shares), so unless Horton and company make a hostile attempt to take us over, I just don't see this playing out. I will not lose any sleep over this, as it is a longshot at best. Now back to your regularly scheduled fear mongering. War Eagle!! |
