In skinners latest email our pay review process will be arbitrarily changed again. Our insurance is being arbitrarily gutted again. Our retirement is being spun to sound industry standard.
This is life with no union. The is JetBlue reality. In fact the 2.2% raise JetBlue pilots recently received will not cover the cost of changes made to health care. |
This industry is rapidly changing once again. Mega mergers, mega retirements, growth, etc are finally happening and that's a good thing. With everything going on in this industry we are fools to not have a union/cba on property. I'll be the first to admit that when I came here I wasn't interested in hearing about it. But now, I believe that for our own well being and protections, we are leaving ourself out on a limb without one. I'm not saying we need this to try and screw JB, or show them who's in charge, etc. We need it to protect our careers and future against what ever comes down the line. If we want this next drive to be successful, then we must pick and choose carefully who the reps are. We don't need the radicals and extremists pushing this thing. That's one of the reasons I was so turned off by it last year and through conversations with my fellow pilots that was their concern also. I don't want to hear we need a union so we can screw JB and how it's time to get back at the company for past doings, etc. I want to hear how to protect and enhance our careers/benefits for the future. The union can only be as strong as the pilots it represents. We need to set the standard for our expectations, not the union. Their job is to represent us and enforce our CBA. We need to be educated about the facts of what we have/don't have as well as the risks of not having these protections.

Good luck with the upcoming organizing drive. Too bad it failed last time.....you could be working under your new CBA right now if it hadn't. |

When JBPA failed guys were saying oh its going to take a few years to get it implemented. Well, its a couple years now and same old baloney. Get going now because if a hostile takeover happens you are guaranteed unemployment for sure. You can have some protection or no protection, the choice is yours either way. |
Wow, how fast this board has gotten off track. Does any of this rhetoric have any effect on the poolies? Let's keep the rhetoric on the latest greatest board and keep this board reserved for new hire info.
|
School house says no hiring until Summer 2013..
|
Heard the summer 2013 from a check airman as well as a CP. Hang tight ladies and gents!
|
Another year! I sure hope not.
|
Do you mean new hiring (ie interviews) or training for those already in the pool.
