Default A332 to South America Weight Restriction?

In recent South American summers, the 764 had been replaced by the 763 on ATL-LIM and ATL-EZE in January. Looks like this year it will be an A332. Can anybody tell me how badly the Airbus will be weight restricted with Cargo? Ill be taking it a couple times this Winter (Summer there)
Thanks!

Can't speak definitively for DL as I don't work there, but at US I don't think there would be a significant restriction. The A330-200 is the longer-range variant of the type (Our -300s carry 35 more people but less fuel.). At US, we do PHL-TLV, our longest leg in the system, with the A332. CLT-GIG will be going to the A332 for the winter as well.

The airplane can carry a pretty good payload as a general rule. The potential for any restrictions might be driven more by runway/climb requirements given the summer temperatures and terrain around the airports down there.

You have it backwards. For most of the year for ATL-GIG, SCL, and EZE the "primary" aircraft is the 7ER (767-300ER for you non-DAL sorts). In the SA summer (i.e. our winter) those routes have occasionally or routinely been upgraded to the 767-400. Usually it goes back to the ER in our spring.

GRU has almost always been on the 767-400 throughout the entire year, though the 7ER had it for a few months, I believe due to runway construction.

Going to the 330 has been rumored for the past couple of years. Did you see it somewhere on the DeltaNet that it was definitely going to the 330?

I am on the 7ER, and if there is anything I have learned in the past few years, is that just because one fleet "owned" a city pair in the past, that doesn't mean that you can depend on that going forward!

ATL-EZE (Buenos Aires) goes A330-200 in the fall. 27Oct in fact.

The only reason the 33 would be restricted (I'm sure you are talking about pax restriction)is that the cargo would bring higher revenue. I don't see the 200 having any issues.

Thanks guys! Hopefully the A332 will NOT have any weight issues with a full Cargo load. It seemed the past few years that DL had some beefy contract for boxes!

Pretty sure that's why the 330 is being used on the route
