I know this is the "Majors" forum, but how low could your hours drop when you were at the regionals?

were you able to stay current spreading those 77hrs as necessary?

Probably not very low considering most build lines well over 80 hours and don't allow dropping unless they have very fat RSV coverage. Which the regionals never have, Hence no dropping of trips.

Plus most those guys need to work the extra just to pay the bills with those pay scales. So they aren't willing to drop anyway.

If we had green reserve days/grids, as much as you want at CPZ. You of course lose all the pay for which you drop, so nobody does. But you could, if we had green reserve grids. We dont. Well, we should, but the company keeps them red.
I have no idea what is required to keep benefits though.

You can drop to zero per month at Spirit. It's good to have the flexibility.

Can someone from AA chime in on this? This is of great interest to me, it's actually one of the main reasons I'm looking elsewhere from my current employer.

So are you saying you can drop your entire line and fly one 3 day / 15 hour trip and keep your benefits at Spirit?
