Default Minimum flying per month?

At my airline, we must fly 59 hours a month to be considered "full-time". I've heard pilots at jetBlue and Virgin can't drop down below 70 hours. I'm just curious what the minimum is at different majors... Thanks.

Yeah lol. At 157 hours for the year I would be in trouble with the benefits! However those checks just keep coming. Ahh back to the to do list.

And I PRAY this never changes - the flexibility to drop as much of our schedule as manning allows is a very under appreciated nugget that most guys don't think about. I use it when I need it and love the fact that is still a contractual right to do so (available to regular or reserves as long as you can afford the pay hit).

The 70 hours refers to credit, not block. I suppose if staffing was "green" and you had the PTO you could drop.

With all the rumors of DAL double checking military orders and the looming "pilot shortage" this seem pretty optimistic. As a DAL hopeful I sure hope you keep it!

Zero monthly at SWA. However, there are yearly or quarterly benchmarks used to classify you as "full" time, in order to receive certain benefits such as buddy passes etc.

I can't believe the airlines still consider buddy passes a "privelege". I say they're more of a punishment.

At Alaska, we can't trade/drop/pick up with company open time below 75 or above 85 (with a few exceptions). We can trade/drop/pick up from 0 to 100 if it's pilot-to-pilot.

Tell me about it, I recently sent a blast email to family members that I would no longer be receiving passes. Way too much hassle and stress for me. I ended up paying $150 for a Chicago hotel room for a family member that couldn't afford one after failing to get on the last flight out after a visit. I'm officially done with them. The passes, not the family.
