So does this mean that all the AA furloughs go behind the new USair guys? Some of who didn't even have a drivers license back in 99-00?

Whoever is still on the street and junior to the most junior person active on the list are typically tacked to the bottom. The only people below them are people hired after today which are DOH on the bottom.

Mergers are fun, aren't they?

Still, it's better to be on the bottom of the seniority list than it is to be on the street.

Seems logical that a new hire at US airways would go to the bottom. The only group that a new hire might go above would be a furloughed AA pilot.

But really... What new hire is going to argue that case? Not I

Bingo!

This is the start of a long multi-year process. Even the stuff that "moves fast" seems to just crawl along.

I'd be willing to bet that the USair hires prior to today all go above the most junior active AA pilot.

However, that's going to be at least a year before anyone knows anything official on that.

I've heard the "snapshot" is at the POR, which they are estimating in the fall. You can bet that us furloughs will be coming back in droves to beat that date.

If you don't bring a seat to the party, you can't sit down. I would feel bad stealing another's pilot's job anyways. US Airways has had the advantage of being very picky with their new hires, so I'm sure they all deserve to be there.

I've heard airways hires 70 to 80%.

Now delta is picky, 15 interview 7 get the job.

Ha, I heard the other way around. A buddy of mine interviewed at Delta(about 15 of them) and all but 2 got the job. I guess it all depends on the quality of recruitment.
