Thanks, guys. That's what I went with. You know the drill...you don't want to seem as if you're hiding something, but don't wanna ding yourself unnecessarily, either!
I just got the 'complete within 48hrs, please' email, after submitting the completed app...hmmm...

I think the "complete within 48 hours" is a standard reply. I've gotten it, however, I haven't been called for an interview either.
Not sure what more can be completed, if you go back and review your application it's probably all filled out.

Good luck! Let us know if you hear anything.

Default Next US Airways requisition window?

Does anyone here know when the next US Airways requisition window will open?

I filled out an app today and after submitting it, I looked over my app and saw there was some info missing that I didn't remember seeing on the app that I filled out. I figured it would look bad to submit an incomplete app so I withdrew mine and was hoping to start over. Apparently, once you withdraw an app from the current requisition window, you can't submit another one under that same requisition.

How often do they open new aquisition windows? I think I have an app in the system from last September (another aquisition window) but I figured I need to fill out another application.

Thanks.

Man, that is a huge bummer. I'll ask the US Airways guys tomorrow at the WAI Congerence, see if they may know.

Good luck.

Mine did the same thing (blank spaces once completed). I'm not 100% sure, but I think that's a product of how you respond to some of the questions or select items in the drop-down boxes. I believe it skips questions based on your entries. Just a thought.

For those awaiting class or currently in training, does US Airways send a "cleared to train" email before your assigned class date? I'm 99% sure there won't be any hiccups in the background check but it would be nice to know that everything is in order at US Airways before putting in my 2 week notice at my current employer. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated!

You are given a class date when you get the call from Lyle Hogg to let you know you got the job. Then, the company sends you to Phoenix or Charlotte for your pre-employment screening. The results of that screening are 'no news is good news.' So I guess the overall answer to your question is no.

I put in my 2 weeks effective the first day of class. I my thought process was that if something happened before I started, I could probably withdraw my resignation.

I started here last fall and had that same apprehension (of course for no reason). Until I was physically in class, I had that "too good to be true" thought irrationally floating around my head.
They never sent me a "cleared to train" email. They did, however, state in one HR email that they may be waiting for part of my pre-employmemt screening to clear and they would let me know if there were any issues. It was boiler plate. I took it as I wouldn't be able to start training without it clearing and that they would let me know if I hadn't been cleared yet with a soon approaching class date. It gave me some heartburn.
Some guys in my class bid their last schedules at there old jobs such that they had off days for the first five to ten days of Airways training. That allowed them to put their two weeks later and limit the risk. I wasn't that bright. Just food for thought.

Thanks for the info guys! I'll most likely just put in my notice so that the last day falls on the first day of class. I believe we have the option to rescind our resignation if needed

Thanks again,
Chris

Chris,

I have a friend who resigned from ASA and timed his resignation date to the start of his class at US Airways. He had 5 off days leading up to his resignation date and his employment was severed (badging and all) at the beginning of those 5 off days.

Fyi.
