Thank you, PRS Guitar. I've been reading thru the whole thread from the beginning since I got the call. Hadn't gotten that high yet. It has been interesting seeing the change in attitude from pre merger to announcement of the merger to now post merger.

I think hes referring to that fact that many of us wouldn't have given USAir the time of day based on their atrocious payrates. The new MOU pay that brings things up to industry standard by 2016 is the reason I applied. I suspect that most people who did decide to apply after this summer were in the same boat as me. Attitudes are a lot more optimistic.

That's how things go... I think we had that conversation right after Delta got a big raise.

I'm in the class starting 2/10. Are you saying that our class will be offered 767 slots? Wouldn't other pilots on the seniority list bid this first? I can't imagine there wouldn't be 22 pilots bidding up to 767 in PHL. As a new-hire, it does seem exciting at the chance to fly a wide-body right from the start! I'd be just as happy on the 190 though!

Philly is an expensive city so not many people live there or want to move there. It takes a long time to hold a line on the 767. Sitting reserve is horrible especially in a city like Philly. You can hold a line on the Airbus after 15 months and it is a much better A/c. Most would rather hold a line than be stuck on reserve for years flying what are basically red-eyes.
