Well they cannot fly across the pond (Atlantic Ocean) with two over 60 guys as flying pilot and non flying pilot. They will need more youngsters to fly wide bodies.

My last trip the captain fell asleep and so did the IRO in the cockpit. Then again, so did the young AW captain on a LAS-PHL leg while I was in the JS.

Clearly we need age 67.

I doubt he was sleeping, probably has RGS coming up and needed to study the overhead panel...mouth probably open due to being in awe of all those switches overhead.

I say age 67 is ok...once you hit 65 you can only fly day, VFR, 2-3 days a week. Perfect retirement job.

I'm also wondering the same thing. It's tough trying to guess how to time terminal leave, rushing a reserve squadron, deciding where to live, oh and getting an actual job!

FYI, I've read that you have one year to accept a class date at United. Not sure about Delta, but with their delays in classing up off-the-street hires it seems like you could talk your way off active duty long before getting a class date.

Delta is 1.5 years, United 1 year, but how long the US, AA CJO is good for is still unkown. For those lucky enough to have multiple offers, this would help bide time to decide, and for those Mil, it would help work separation. For those who want/need to be hired ASAP, the obvious benefit is seniority.

If you interview anytime from March or later, poolies at UAL, DAL and AA currently have 6-15 month wait for classes. All 3 have deferral policies for mil. Their training pipelines are already log jammed.
SWA is within 3 months from interview.
JB is 3-6 depending from interview.

UAL will not be interviewing until Fall at earliest, and likely not until winter.

On the 727, a routine safety precaution was using the eyebrow windows "to check for meteors".

Any idea what time frame resume/apps they are looking at? I applied mid November. No news as of yet.

I would think that your qualifications are competitive, but the speculation is that they are still pulling applicants from the requisition number before the one that you applied in. Are you currently flying for the non-sched? If so, have you flown more than 400 hours in the previous 12 months? That is apparently an automatic disqualifier if the answer is no.

Also, don't expect to here anything if you aren't selected. Many on here have applied more than once and never heard a peep either way.

If u are prior mil, I believe they waive the 400 hr in the last year requirement.
