Great post gloopy. I ageee 100%. If AMR has their way on scope the result will be more outsourcing at every other company begining with the very next contract cycle. Maybe sooner if anyone is inclined to follow the AMR model of abrogation via premature bankruptcy. Imo once this industry becomes so fragmented with dozens of "*operated by:" carriers we will no longer be able to make a unified stand against anything. And help doesnt seem to be coming from the current "labor friendly" nmb either... If the pilots at AA decide to take a stand on this one I also would happily contribute to the APA emergency fund and support them in every way possible.

They wont need replacement from Asia or India or anywhere else. In todays middle class and economic times, there are plenty of people right here just happy to have a job and health benefits.

They have no trouble getting American trained pilots to fly for them, do they? The next step is when Air China, Air India, and Aero Mexico are flying our routes, in and out of the US of A, or even inside the USA.
Anyone recall what John McCain said, right after 9-11, when United was going bankrupt? I saw him at a press conference where someone asked him what would happen if UAL and some of the other majors went bankrupt, and shut down.
His answer was, "If they can't do it, we'll just have to let other international carriers come in and fly those routes."
Some of you guys are only looking at RJ's when we all should be looking at Cabotage.
Get ready for the next beat down.

Believe me, I'm all ears when it comes to cabatoge. I'm convinced Emirates is banking on it. There is no other way they'll fill the ridiculous amount of WBs they've ordered. It's either going to work for them, or go horribly wrong.

Because ALPA represents the AE pilots and it would be a direct conflict of interest to the dues paying pilots of Eagle.

Eagle Pilot here. APA has my support. And its possible what is good for APA is not so good for us at AE. But they do represent something bigger than my particular job. If I see guys picketing at MIA, I would be there by their side.

That's my point. They can't really take over if they don't have pilot's to fill the seats. You won't see guys living in this country flood to expat jobs. That's a tough life for a lot of people, family or not. People don't want to leave this country. Otherwise places like Emirates wouldn't need to lure American pilots over with dreams of paid villas, schooling, interest free car loans, & only 3 years to WB left seat jobs.

You don't think any of those 7,000+ AA pilots will be looking for work off shore?
What If...
The AA pilots "burn it down"?
AA routes/airframes get sold.
7,000+ pilots on the street.
They can:
1. go back to school, learn to do something else or;
2. Go to Air China/Emirates/Air India
Which one would -you- do if Delta shut down tomorrow?
I know LOTS of Delta Pilots who went to Emirates, Air India, Jet Airways, etc. BEFORE Delta even declared bankruptcy, and Delta never had a 1113 imposed. I'm guessing the Asian Carriers will -no trouble- finding pilots, with what is going on over here, with Com Air and all the other RJ outfits that will be furloughing soon, not to mention the AA pilots if they burn it down.
