Default JB's 2013 health "insurance"

Take a look at JB's health care options for 2013 and compare to your company.

...and tell me if the health insurance at your company is worse.

This is a great big kick in the sack for all JB employees. I make decent money and I'm very upset about this. Can't imagine how those making far less are going to cope with this.

Just from glancing at it, Blue Care 1 doesn't sound that bad if the semi-monthly premium was lower, say, $100 per paycheck.

I can honestly say that B6's insurance is worse than Eagles.

Blue Care 1 will not be offered for 2013. Just the green, blue and orange plans.

Herk...we have the 1193 to thank for that. I've voted for ALPA twice here and will gladly do it again. Unfortunately, severe damage has now been done to my career (and to a greater extent for most other employees) via the new health care plans.

Very sad when they say that the current plans are "unsustainable", yet JB is paying cash for the terminal extension in JFK and making record profits so far this year.

I can remember David telling us why we didn't have to resign our seniority number when we came here. He said that working at JB would be so much better than where we came from (most new hires back then were furloughed from legacy carriers) that we wouldn't want to go back.

I resigned from my legacy 5 years ago and now regret that decision, even though I would be out on furlough (again) today.

Thanks for all you do, Dave Barger.

Guppy, yeah sorry about that. I know you voted for alpa and I didn't mean to insinuate that you were one of 1193. It is sad that a professional airline pilot with a family will pay out over 6k for the cheapest plan and that's best case scenario. Still, there are people lining up to get in, just look at the poolie thread so mgt can do as they please right?

How do you call yourself professional pilots if you can't even sit at the table when decisions are made that effect your career?

Herk...I know we're on the same team here. No worries, mate! Just have to vent once in a while.

I remember speaking with an ACP in BOS last year. He told me that with my PEA the company couldn't take anything away from me. While they cannot change my PEA, they can take back in things like productivity (which they have), 13:30's (which they have), decent health coverage (which they have year over year...next year just sickens me), etc...

Flying with a guy right now who is anti-ALPA. Says he is open to an in-house, but not ALPA because of his rotten experience at XYZ regional. .....working on him.....

Oh, we can sit at the table when decisions are made....just ask the company lawyers who testified in court (the 3A battle) that we individually NEGOTIATE our contracts!

The reality is we can sit down with our CP and voice our displeasure. Then he'll say, "Well, that's the way it is. Would you like some pizza?".

I've been working on this pilot "group" for a long time, trying to get ALPA on property. This healthcare debacle is doing more for the drive than anything in my time here at JB.
